Labubu Movie: Release Date, Sony News & Trailer Updates

A Labubu movie is currently in development but there is no official release date 😀

We predicted it back in late Sept. 2025 after Pop Mart’s Executive Director and co Chief Operating Officer, Si De said Pop Mart plans to copy what Disney has done.

And now in mid November 2025 the chances of a Labubu movie just increased as it was reported that Sony acquired the movie rights

In mid Dec 2025, Paul King (who directed Paddington and Wonka) was announced as the director for the movie.

Prediction: Late 2027 release

We believe Labubu is still relatively new and unknown to most people.

It’s not popular enough in 2025 for people to want to see a movie.

The majority of Americans don’t really know what Labubu is yet and Pop Mart still needs a few more years for people to know about Labubu otherwise the film will lose money.

Once The Monsters becomes more popular and mainstream, our prediction is that there will be a Labubu cartoon movie sometime in 2027 or 2028.
